Jimmy Scruggs III

 A veteran R&B vocalist, is dedicated to preserving old-school music by performing soulful covers of songs the 1960s through the 2000s. His performances span decades of music, evoking nostalgia and transporting listeners back in time. James Alexander Scruggs III on October 22, 1960, in Indianapolis, IN, he is a Libra. Nicknamed "The Chameleon" by his friends for his versatile vocal styles, Jimmy is a third-generation entertainer whose talent is unparalleled. 

 

Jimmy has been performing live for over 45 years with groups and show bands such as Billy Ball and the Upsetters, the Verde Show Band, and Chubby and the All Stars, to name a few. He gained recognition throughout the central Indiana area during the late1980s and 1990s, performing at venues like the Madame Walker Building, the Indiana Convention Center, and Jazz on the Avenue. In 2002 Jimmy formed a two-man group with DJ Rick Hollywood called A Two Tight Connection, with the of their success being a performance at the renowned Apollo Theater in New York City in 2005. 

 

Jimmy also hosted his own half-hour television show, "The Jimmy Scruggs Show," which aired on Pax TV, later transitioning to Fox 59, for one season. In 2023, he performed at the South Bend, Indiana Fusion Fest and has since continued paying tribute to old-school music in Savannah, GA, Chicago, IL, and Indianapolis area.
